In January 2013, Nick Taussig and Paul Van Carter established Salon, in order to bring their wide-ranging expertise under one banner – a place to develop ideas, nurture talent, and package & finance films both for the domestic and international market. Nick has been acquiring and marketing films as a distributor for over 10 years, and Paul has been making them for the same time.

Nick Taussig
Nick was Managing Director of Revolver Entertainment, formerly one of the UK & Eire’s leading ‘All Rights’ film distribution & production companies. He acquired, and oversaw the release of, some of the most important and critically acclaimed films of the last decade, including Alex Gibney’s Oscar-winning documentary Taxi to the Dark Side, Charlie Kaufman’s Synecdoche, New York, Werner Herzog’s Grizzly Man, Bart Layton’s The Imposter, Guillaume Canet’s Tell No One, and Justin Kurzel’s Snowtown. He also headed up Gunslinger, the in-house production arm of Revolver, producing all of its films with Paul Van Carter, and executive produced the BAFTA nominated documentary Taking Liberties. In addition, he is the author of four novels, his most recent, The Distinguished Assassin, published last year.
Paul Van Carter
Paul worked as a producer in music and advertising for ten years before moving into features, assisting the producer of Nicolas Winding Refn’s Bronson, winner of best film at the Syndey Film Festival. He went on to produce four films with Nick Taussig at Revolver: the platinum-selling Shank, which broke all box-office records for distributor Revolver; LFF-nominated Sket; multi-platinum comedy Anuvahood, which won director Adam Deacon his BAFTA; and Offender, their most internationally successful film to date, sold by IM Global. In addition, Paul has produced documentaries about endurance racing in the Bol d’Or, an exploration of the three trimesters of pregnancy, and has published a book on the subject of 20th century art history.
