Synopsis: A six-part sweeping period drama about the life of Jem Mace, the most successful bare-knuckle boxer of all time, who was responsible for bringing the Queensbury rules to the sport, worldwide. A playboy, gambler, womaniser, streetfighter, musician, circus master, globe trotter, and world champion boxer, Mace reached the greatest heights of success in his life, married a movie star, and enjoyed fame the world over, yet did not escape drama, being targeted for assassination by gangsters in New Orleans, and eventually dying penniless, buried in an unmarked grave back in his home of Norfolk.
